So I feel like I finally accomplished something for probably the first time in a super long while. I spent yesterday doing all my laundry, doing dishes, and unpacking boxes from when I moved almost two months ago. I only have 2 left, where as Ashley has around 10 or so more boxes to unpack still. Then today I spent all morning and some of the afternoon researching my family history and where the Nidiffer name came from. If I could just find out my dads grandfathers name then I will have my ancestry traced back to when the Nidiffers first came to America. It was originally spelled Neidhof in Germany and then Neidhofer when Johan Markus Neidhofer came to America on October 21, 1754. The name has since split a few times to the spellings of Neideffer, Nidiffer, and Nidever. One ancestor, George Nidever Jr, was an explorer who rescued the Indian girl whom the book "Island of the Blue Dolphins" was based. It was pretty crazy to stumble upon 250 years of family history that started out looking up my name on Google because I was bored. After I forced myself to quit 6 hours later, I finally cleaned out my car that was full of the junk from Ashley's old Blazer. It has only been occupying my back seat since early April.
On another note, I should be finding out this week if I will be working in St. Clair for the next few months. We have a big job starting there next week that is supposed to be about 14 weeks long. Since the drive is over an hour and a half I will most likely be staying in a hotel or something out there. That sucks. Hopefully I can find someone to split it with, because it is going to be pretty expensive.
It is going to suck being away from Ashley and the dogs for that long, but I got need to work to pay the bills. Hopefully they can come visit once a week or something, as long as I am not working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, which is a possibility. Although 7 - 12's would be an amazing amount of money.
