Notes: Basically, think
creepy and crazy.
[The feed starts with an unfamiliar scene, clearly a dream: the Shinsengumi compound in Kyoto, the dojo that feels familiar underneath Souji's feet. He's practising, sole kata, simple and precise movements, until something hits him in the back-- it feels like the hilt of a sword, and it knocks him forward unexpectedly. Quickly, he scrabbles back up to see numerous shapes in front of him. Their swords are drawn, but their faces keep changing: sometimes they are unfamiliar, then a flash of recognition as Hijikata shows up, or Kondou, or the inhabitants of Somarium.
Just as they all take a step forward, the feed changes to something familiar: Espoir village, white with snow and grey with rubble. The machine now shows Souji's hand, dragging his sword, still in its scabbard, behind him. His white clothes are speckled with blood, and he's muttering vague, angry things.
Something shows up before him as the Dreamberry picks up on Souji's waking dream, but it flashes out of existence when the man strikes it with his sword. When he doesn't hit anything, the momentum makes him fall to his knees, the Dreamberry falling to lie down a few feet away.
He struggles to get up, leaning on his sword, but he can't; the thin line of blood trailing down his chin and dripping into the snow probably has something to do with that. He keeps speaking with a hoarse voice]
You made me into what I am-- for you to-- turn on me--
