Inkheart - Cornelia Funke

I thought Inkheart by Cornelia Funke, was a creative and lovely story. The idea of someone possessing a skill to pull characters  from a fictional world of books into another reality, or the reverse, by reading aloud was fascinating to read about; all those the possible ramifications. Particular characters got to meet their creator, the author of Inkheart, Fenoglio (within the story). The whole idea was very well-written: the author face to face with their creation, their personality and the fate imposed upon them, and of course, the characters reaction and view of their parent. I loved the relationship between Meggie and Mo (Mortimer), the affection between daughter and father was believable and heart-warming. I'm glad there is another book, because reaching the end of Inkheart I just wanted to know more, how the character's personalities and lives continued to develop. So, Inkspell is next, and I greatly recommend Inkheart.

As an extra note: On the 6th July, I'll be hopefully going to see The Woman in Black. The novel is by Susan Hill. It's an excellent chilling ghost story and I'm looking forward to seeing it adapted for a stage performance.
