Wow - I haven't posted on my journal in ages! There's been a lot of changes, so hopefully this update will post properly.
Recently read The Scarlet Thief by Paul Fraser Collard and from the very first paragraph I was hooked. It has a seamless and intense narrative that had me soon investing in the characters' fates. I adore the Sharpe series and feel Jack Lark is a wonderful antidote for anyone who misses the atmosphere of Richard Sharpe's world or anything similar. The Maharajah's General is a brilliant sequel, and I think, even more engaging than The Scarlet Thief! Sometimes I feel apprehensive reading a follow-up because sometimes what makes the original so appealing and memorable is sadly absent, but any concerns were wholly unnecessary here. I really hope there will be further adventures to enjoy.
