I work for a residential mortgage company. Like most lenders in North America, we have a Web site so that potential clients can view our rates and complete an application. If an application is partially completed online our automated system will send out an email message inviting the recipient back to our site to finish the job. The replies sent to this email are returned to me. Here is one of the responses:

Dear Sir.
I did not finish the appl.. because it was stupid. I put in the amount I wanted to borrow and the sale price of the house and it kept saying some stupid thing about percentages. I have already applied at a local lender and it looks good.

The "stupid thing about percentages" are better known as today's rates. You know, that little thing over principal we charge over 15 or 30 years for lending money?
