No, sir, you can not just return a six pack of bottled beer after your wife decides she didn't like the one that she drank.
Other gentleman, No amount of griping about how you didn't know you were going to need to return those sunglasses is going to make me allow you to make the return and give you $$ back. It's against store policy to accept returns once the item has left the store (unless it's something electronic like a phone charger), nevermind the fact that you don't have a receipt for it. Yes, maybe my manager will let you make the return, but I'm not going to get in trouble for it. See this smile? It's really forced right now.
Had a real gem last night. Our store is the largest in the entire company. I was busy mopping one half of the store while my coworker was busy stocking stuff on the fountain half (luckily we have at least two people on overnights). A couple of guys come in. Their car had been parked in front of the store for a bit, and I was a bit curious as to why it had been sitting there so long. I look up from where I'm mopping just in time to catch one of them sneak behind the register area, and pick up a pack of cigarettes from the shelf before walking back out and headed back towards the soda fountain area. (which is located behind and to the side of the register area). Just before he gets out of sight, I see him start to put it into his pocket.
I called him out on it, asking why he was behind the register area. HE said something along the lines of missing the good old days when the cigarettes were where they could just grab them. I'm pretty sure I had a 'wtf' look on my face. Needless to say, he left the cigarettes and the ice cream sandwich cookies on the counter and they left the store. My coworker also pretty much told them to leave.
Pulled up the camera footage and marked the timestamp and my manager watched it this morning. She was just shaking her head.
