I have a friend who is a tour guide for the university we both attend. While I am currently unemployed, I don't particularly envy her job. The parents of incoming freshmen are just...bizarre at times.
For example. One of the things she does is run Q&A sessions after the tours. Recently, she got this question:
"Will there be bed checks and curfews?"
Baffled, she responded with, "I don't believe so, why?"
"Because I want to make sure my child isn't out late or sleeping with the opposite sex."
Uh...lady? This is a state university with fifteen thousand students that encourages broadening of horizons and exploration. Yes, even in that way--Haven, the GLBT group, is very active on campus (and their drag shows are awesome, but that's another story) as are various others. You were on the tour, which includes a list of some of the biggest student organizations. You should know this, If you don't want your incoming freshman to be exposed to sex EVER--obviously, you don't have to be part of one of these groups to be a happy, healthy student here, it's just a possibility that's out there--you probably shouldn't be considering us as your university of choice.
Just sayin'.
Edited because I apparently get confused on the differences between "before" and "after".
