Well Ive been reading here for a while, thought I'd finally toss in a few of my stories. I'll start with some older stories and work up to things that happend today..
(this part xposted)First off, I work on an airforce base at their grocery store(commissary)wont say which one...I cant belive some of the stuff these people do there!
When I first started there(4 yrs ago), I started working in cleaning(the worst job ever, but when you need money, hell a jobs a job) BTW, have you ever noticed when you go into a store you dont see someone walking around cleaning stuff like constantly? Somone comes out if somethings broken or spilled, they clean it,and then they go away. But not here! They HAVE TO have someone walking around from open to close.9 hours of almost non stop of circleing! But when I first started there the stupid question I got atleast 3 times a day was. "Do you work here" I swear I dont know how many stupid looks I gave. Or how bad I wanted to say, "No I dont work here, I just come in here to clean up after you people for no reason at all"
I also had several people get all pissed off because I'd have a section blocked off cause I had to clean something someones kid broke, or someone else broke and then ran. They'd stand there and make these stupid noises at me,and give me the look like move. Hell Im not moveing, its not like they cant go around to the other end of the isle. Or The one lady I had that demanded I get out of HER way. I said, "Im sorry, you cant come through the floors wet" And she raises her tone, and goes "I dont care move!" I guess I gave her some kinda look cause she reported me to customer service. I really wouldve bust out laughin if she wouldve fell.
Or theres the times when I was stocking shelves. Dont people get that in the holiday season, stores get VERY busy and some items tend to sell out fast? I dont know how many times Ive been yelled at over a can of french fried onions!
Even funnier,is when it comes to coupons. Oh man you find an expired coupon in there pile, you better hit the floor! Some of these people practially hop over the counter at you!
*** now to recently***
Seeing as how I am one of the last cashiers to come in, I usualy get to miss out on anything good that happend. Since today was my late day, I get to work in the cash office. *gets to play with lots of money* So I grab my time sheet and as Im signing in, I glance at the return/refund sheet. I notice that 2 boxes of that teeth whitener stuff had been returned..Under reason it said didnt work or something to that effect. Ive tried the whitener before and I hadnt had a problem with it. So as I finish signin in, I ask the lady Im working with why the customer returned it. I then hear her bust out laughing. Of course I was kinda courious. She then says. The customer returned it because she had gotten it to whiten her dogs teeth, and she said that it wasnt working.. *enter my very confused face* And since it didnt work on the dog she returned the box she had gotten for herself..
I didnt even ask anymore questions.. >_<
And this isnt about a customer but about my boss. I understand some people dont get out as much as others but...jeez
My boss didnt have long before it was time for her to go home. So she said she was gonna go pick up a few things before she left, so if we needed her she'd be out in the store. Well she comes back a few mins later, with her stuff. And then she says..I have the stuff I need to make sandwhiches(sp?)but I went up and down isle 14(where all bakeing and condements are) and I couldnt find the jelly I wanted. Seeing as how I use to stock, I thought I'd help her out. I asked her which kinda of jelly she wanted and I'd go over there and find it for her.. And her responce *which I about died from laughter after hearing* "Im looking for the k-y jelly! I heard it sopposed to be really good"
OMG! I was rolling..with like 3 shades of red, cause I was just shocked she didnt know what it was! Of course she was looking at me like I had just gone nuts.. So I go and grab a ky box and I hand it to her, and I tell her to read it... I think her shades of red outpast mine. =P
