I was intensely curious about my mom's battered pile of Sayers paperbacks when I was little, but they were Too Grown-Up for me to read, so when I got the flu at age 12 and she started lending them to me I was the happiest Pringle ever.
And then I actually started reading them and I was even happier.

...like in 5th Grade when I was told I couldn't read a Lord Peter novel for a book report, so I read Moby Dick instead just to spite people. :)
