to non-members who want to join:

May 16, 2007 04:49

To join, you must come to this post and comment with the first sentence of each rule found on the userinfo page, and include the statement "I have read and agree to abide by all rules in the community. If I disagree with the rules I will politely take it up with the mods." (all in the same comment) If all checks out, we will send you an invite (click 'I receive an invitation to join a community' here if you want to be notified), and then you must go to the community invite page and accept your invitation.

Our requirements for membership:
--- obviously, you must follow the steps above.
--- you must have had your journal for 2+ months, have 20+ entries, and have no voyeur* communities friended. (if you don't meet those requirements but still want to be a part of the community, explain why you should be an exception in your comment)
--- you must apply with your primary journal (we don't accept community-only journals).

I know it's a complicated process, but we are a constantly growing community, and since many new members seem to make rule-breaking mistakes in their first posts, we decided to come up with a better method. Hopefully this way people will understand the rules and we won't have to reject as many posts, and people won't have to re-post because they broke a rule. We mods hate to have to reject a post that took a lot of work -- hopefully this way, the mistakes will be fewer and everyone will be happier.

------

* a voyeur community is a community that is about looking at other people for sexual pleasure -- porn communities and 'show_your_boobs' type communities fall into those categories. We make exceptions, but the reason for that requirement is to try and keep out anyone who's going to join looking for sexual gratification. We're a platonic community ;-)
