Seattle and PAX '07

Good times. Seattle wasn't what I expected. We stayed at the Red Lion Hotel downtown. It as a nice place and the staff was super friendly. I was surprised to see that despite the abundance of well-to-do Seattlites, there was also an abundance of homeless people, drug addicts, and prostitutes. This surprised me because here in Chicago, most of those people stay out of downtown, an those that don't aren't usually as confrontational as some of the people who approached me in downtown Seattle. Some of them were really nice and friendly, some were indifferent and others were just plain crazy. Like the guy who called me a bitch and said that he didn't care the size of the cock I was currently fucking as I walked down the street with Sophia in the baby bjorn. Yeah...

We were relatively pleased with the food there, but the service left ALOT to be desired. It surprised us that most of the people around us were okay with the slow service. One place in particular, a Vietnamese place called Bambuza, took all four of our orders at the same time, yet brought them to the table at different times. The last being almost an hour after the rest of us had been served. But damn, it was delicious!

PAX was awesome. We met Wil Wheaton (of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Stand By Me fame)and got to see some of the games coming out next year in action. Besides Sophia, I saw only 3 other children at PAX. We were interviewed while we were there because it was just so unorthodox that someone would bring their baby to a gaming convention. Go fig.

All in all, we had a good time and had great food. And even though the landing gear on our returning flight was messed up and we had to wait three hours (getting us to Chicago at about 3:30 a.m.) for an available plane with a fussy 11 week old, we will remember the trip fondly. Maybe we'll go again next year...maybe.
