Evolution is not Abiogenesis

Today I had a long conversation with a creationist about evolution.  And oddly the thing that bothered me most was the idea that evolution deals with the origin of life on Earth, which is false.  Beyond that apparently she thought that evolution dealt with the Big Bang.  No wonder so many people don't believe in it, if that is what an otherwise intelligent person can think, if someone can misinterpret evolution to be so much larger than it is, then of course it won't hold up to scrutiny.  Maybe I'm not the best person to start the campaign to teach the masses, but who wants to help spread the "gospel":

1. Evolution is how 1 species changes over time.
2. Abiogensis is how the 1st living organisms were created.
3. Big Bang is the theory on how the universe was created.

Three different things, three different fields, if you think 1 is wrong does not mean the other 2 are necessarily wrong.  Only once this is understood by others can you start talking about the details, otherwise the facts are worth naught.  Or maybe I'm wrong... ideas?
