Title: Too many hours in this midnight
Rating: G
Pairing: Ricardo Kakà/Andriy Shevchenko (implied)
The hour hand on Sheva’s watch is still; the minute hand spins on, spins on, but it always lies to him - midnight. Tick - midnight - tock - midnight. A few tick-tocks later, he briefly wonders why he doesn’t think of it as noon, or twelve, or twenty-four, or zero, or just damn broken. The nuance passes (but time does not); he doesn’t really care (he lies like midnight).
Kristen gets his watch fixed; Sheva gets angry. She cries in front of him; he cries later, alone. He calls Kakà at ten after: “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. It’s time.”
“I understand.”
