Summary: This is a habit I can't break.
Andriy would make love to his wife.
She would arch her back against him and move her hips, would dig her nails into his back and pull if he’s doing that thing with his hands-mm, yes-pull them along, leaving streaks of red that look too familiar on his skin. She would bite his shoulder to keep from screaming when he would press his face into her neck and whisper that he needs her.
She would fall back and look at him because sometimes he would sound breathless when he says that. She would bring her lips to his lips, would pray against them, “Andriy, when you look into my eyes, do you see another woman?”
He would say, “No,” but sometimes she would think he closes his eyes on purpose.
“You haven’t been sleeping,” Caroline would tell him and he would kiss her hair and squeeze her shoulder, would say, “I’m sleeping well, sweetheart.”
She would turn in his arms and run her slight fingers along the soft skin under his eyes and he would let her and watch her do it. She would sigh and move her hand to his jaw, which she would caress and cradle, and reply, “What keeps you up at night?”
Without waiting for an answer, she would turn again and move until he’s gripping her tightly and she would rest her head against his chest, lift her hair so she can press her mind to his heart. Sometimes they would just stay like that.
And sometimes he would say, “Somewhere in the world, it’s 7:00 a.m.”
