I played some of Portal yesterday; Jaron hired it, and guided me through a little over half of it, at which point I got him to finish it so I could see the ending, and wrap my head around the later puzzles at another time, when I own it.
It's such an awesome game!
Genius design, simple concept, some pretty trippy physics, hehe. Part of my motivation comes from the snippets of meme stuff I've picked up off the 'net and had to trace back to Portal - Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged, thank you ^_^ But the computer is seriously creepy, and absolutely hilarious! It's worth lingering on a lot of levels just to hear what she has to say. And the ending is excellent. I have just downloaded the end credits song, which is far more amusing (and dark and depressing and creepy) when you've seen how the game plays out.
Portal is more a psychological game than most horror-thrillers, I swear, that voice messes with your head... :P
Anyway, Portal highly recommended. I'll but it (for PC probably) at some point, and it takes very little time to play through, so feel free to borrow it when I do. One thing that must be said for Aperture Science, they know how to motivate a test subject - "There will be cake".
In other news, looking for a job...hanging out a lot with the boyfriend...playing games. Lotsa games. Up to Kryta in Guild Wars with Jaron.
