Good game. But I want the cubes to be up front where everyone can see them.

I actually think that would make for a nastier game - there'd be more blocking, more interference.

Although, I suppose "nastier" could be spelt "strategically rich".

It's also area control. It does remind me somewhat of Go.

You have the whole mobile leader element that you move from area to area to collect VPs from conflict or from the regularly generating monuments.

The tile laying seems fairly minor to me in the game - it's partly to define the areas of the kingdoms, but mostly for use as cards in conflict to bolster the attempts.

I've played it once before. Really wasn't impressed.

But, as we know, everyone has their own little niches of dislike when it comes to games.
