I tried to do one of those character-list memes on InfiniteViking's journal and totally overran the comment limit.
So y'all are the (un)lucky beneficiaries. ;-)

Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11? Lt Uhura, definitely. Nancy Blackett is not a college professor type, although more pirates in my classes would not necessarily be a bad thing!
12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it and does it succeed? Sam Gamgee sends Captain America on a mission? COOL. I should probably have left Sam out, because this is like writing fic and my brain refuses to fic LOTR at all, but just the idea of Sam sending Captain America on a mission... SO MUCH AWESOME. Better yet, they can go on a mission together! :D
What would be 9's favorite book? Janet Fraiser's favorite book... lol, I probably have a more serious answer to this somewhere, but right now I'm going to say it's a life of Napoleon just for laughs. *g*
Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6 or the other way around? Vimes does not do the swearing fealty thing. Neither does Uhura. I don't think this one will work... but they can team up! (The cracky crossover potential OF AWESOME is the real reason I can never ignore these memes.)
For some reason 5 is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he share a studio apartment with 9 or 10? The Brig's roommate: Janet Fraiser or Sherlock Holmes? PUT THEM ALL THREE IN A ROOM AND WATCH THE EPICNESS EXPLODE. I think the Brig would get on better long-term with Janet than with Holmes, though; she's tidier.
5, 2, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss? The Brig, Vimes, and Sam Gamgee? SO MUCH AWESOME. I think Sam is slightly bewildered, but being Sam (therefore both sensible and a hobbit), keeps his head down and concentrates on the food while Vimes and the Brig have THE MOST UTTERLY EPIC COP-VS-SOLDIER ETHICS ARGUMENT EVER.
(...and I just realized that cop-vs-soldier ethics are exactly what my entire not!NaNo is about, or rather one of the things it is about, and novels are confusing, yes? *makes note*)
3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens? J'onn J'onzz challenges Sherlock Holmes... TO A DUEL? Somehow I suspect there is a lot more going on here than meets the eye. But that is an amazing combination, yes. I love crossover two-handers.
If 1 stole 8's most prized possession how would (s)he get it back? Odo snitched Cap's shield? That's easy - Odo will give it back as soon as he doesn't need it anymore. It was probably for something short and obvious anyway, such as deflecting phaser fire (Cap's shield is TOTALLY indestructible, you just know not even a phaser on disintegrate can scratch that baby).

My other shapeshifty "last of his kind" awesome policeman-type dude (who's also a telepath and can fly and phase through walls and some other stuff). Um - probably "turn into a dragon and TAKE ME FLYING PLEASE!" Why a dragon I don't know, because he's allergic to fire, except that he'd make a really classy-looking dragon (that's him in the icon).

I'm having to go with S5!Odo here, otherwise he wouldn't be eating in the first place, but Odo and Sam Gamgee would both still defer to a lady in the matter of scallion pancakes.
(Besides, then they can all go... somewhere... and Sam can cook more pancakes and they can chat companionably till all hours. I have this whole AU percolating in my head where the "Tribble-ations" Niner crew got stuck in the 23rd century and had to be all space!smuggler pirate-y trying to get the parts to build a widget to go home without b0rking the timestream. Jamie's sinister secret organization threatens the world. Odo and Janet (AAAAAAH ODO AND JANET, THE UNIVERSE CANNOT GET ANY MORE AWESOME) reluctantly team up to stop him. Nancy Blackett is spying for Jamie but ostensibly helping Odo and Janet (you know, she'd totally do that). Jamie has kidnapped Sam Gamgee - oy, bad Jamie - to force the others to surrender. The Brig advises them to seek out J'onn J'onzz, who... pretty much walks into Jamie's secret lair through a wall, breaks Sam out with his super-strength, clouds everyone's minds with his telepathy, and walks back out through the front door carrying both Sam and Jamie over his shoulders. There's a reason J'onn has to be allergic to fire to keep him from totally taking over the Justice League's "last resort" spot from Superman. XD
If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8? Captain America. Definitely. Cinderella is a nice person, but not so much with the protecting people. I'd wind up protecting her.
