i mean, god. beyond music, i don't love anything. i need smack and i want jack and i like getting fucked, but love hasn't got anything to do with anything. it's not what art is about, no matter what the fuckin' poets and painters tell you. when you throw yourself off a stage into a pissed-off crowd, that's not about love or showing it or receiving it, it's about seeing how many more people you can piss off and about adding to the show. art isn't about love, it's about keeping yourself away. it's about giving up the existence without sharing your own.
the idea of love is fucked. no one can tell you what it is or why. take your girlfriend. whatd'you love about her, her ass? her eyes? what, her fuckin' sense of humor? fuck that. where's that gonna get you in ten years? jesus, where's it get you now? love's shit. it's not what people want you to think it is. it's a bad contract. if you can sleep with someone for twenty years without hating them at the end of your life, you're doin' good.
