Arthur had a fun time going out for Halloween this year. He didn't master saying "Trick or treat," but he did learn "Happy Halloween," and occasionally remembered to thank the people who gave him candy. He was uncharacteristically shy, though - I think it was all the people in funny costumes that threw him off. He only actually seemed a little scared of one women who had a witch-type mask on, but she promptly took it off when she asked if he wanted some of her candy and he said "no" while backing up. We just went up and down the length of our block, maybe a dozen houses, but he still came home with a pail full of goodies. He proceeded to eat three lollipops, two chocolate bars, a box of Smarties, some Twizzlers, some Rockets, and most of a mini bag of chips.* He also tried some Popeye cigarettes (sorry, "candy sticks") but didn't care for them. Eventually his appetite flagged and we got him into the bath and then on to bed - he was exhausted and went to sleep quite quickly.
*Anyone who feels like telling me off for letting him eat so much candy can keep it to themselves - it's Halloween :p
Happy Halloween, everyone!
