Today was the worst day yet :( He started crying as soon as I told him we were leaving for daycare, screamed just about the entire way in the stroller, and then clung to me desperately when we got to the actual playroom. He nursed sitting there on the stairs, and then I handed him to the caregiver. I could still hear him screaming two houses away ( Read more... )

Gah. I'm sorry to hear Arthur's having a hard time with the whole going-to-daycare thing. As I understand it, though, it does get better with time.

Seems as though many of the mothers I know are having daycare woes, either on their end or their kids' end or both.

*hugs*

Your eclair solution seems rational to me. I'm about to console myself with salami.

I'm so sorry you are having such a hard day. It will be OK, and I'm sure it's much harder on you than it is on him. This is a normal stage most kids go through. He's a big boy now, and will soon learn to enjoy his new place to play, picking up some valuable coping skills on the way.

I bought salami at the bakery too, and prosciutto! It's really an all-purpose Italian grocery. I'm planning to have a sandwich made with that lovely meat for lunch, and follow it up with my eclair.

I hope your day improves too.

Eldest was a lot like that some days with her daycare at the start. Once it stopped being a novelty and began to be routine, she rebelled. It lasted less than five days, IIRC.

The eclair sounds a reasonable choice, however!

I always give it a week. The first time around, my son had gotten to like it in 4 days, the second time it became clear that we both hated the situation, so we changed it.
