I figure it’s time for a little life update.
The stomach troubles I alluded to in the previous post had been escalating, so I left my job in Vermont to come home and get some medical attention.
After a few visits to the gastroenterologist and an endoscopy (that’s the one where they put a camera down your throat to look at your stomach), I’ve been told I have gastritis as well as some erosions in my stomach, both of which are problems that take time to heal. I know I made the right decision in coming home.
I’m starting to feel a little better, although I still feel sick when I eat, which is an increasingly frustrating problem. It makes it impossible to get any sleep, but - fortunately, I suppose - that’s something I’m used to.
Even so, I’m applying for a couple of low-key jobs, since I mostly feel okay if I don’t eat a lot. The boredom of staying home all day and the knowledge that I need money both contributed to that decision, although I’m a little nervous and I’m not sure if I’m ready to do much more than sit around all day watching copious amounts of Law and Order. (It’s on ALL THE TIME.) I had an interview tomorrow, actually, but I postponed it, which I’m sure will do wonders for getting me hired.
Thanks for everyone’s support over the past month or so; it’s been rough and I’m still not back to normal, and I appreciate all the love I’ve been getting.
