About me for my Modify Tradition Swap Partner

I don't really know what to put in here, or how you get ideas for your quilts so I'll just ramble a bit.
I love quilts of all sorts, I think they're just beautiful. Old, traditional ones or funky modern ones. I appreciate all the planning and hard work that go into them. I feel I put a bit of myself into my quilts, and I hope people feel that when they wrap up in on

My name's Alexis, 26, married, two stepdaughters, 3 cats and a dog.
My quilting experience thus far has been 3 baby quilts, 2 queen sized quilts and an almost twin sized quilt. I lost pictures of most of them when my computer crashed, but I'll see if I can find some.

They have all been just squares, in different patterns and such, but just squares of fabric. I don't have a quilting machine or access to one (that i"m aware of, I don't think there is any place near me that does quilting service) so I do it on my little Brother sewing machine and kitchen table.

I've always loved pink, but less in the baby pink range, more saturated colors instead. I like the combo of pink and chocolate brown. I love the cute japanese import fabrics that I see on etsy, like of deer or storybook characters. I like 50s/60s kitch. I love garden gnomes. Can't explain it, maybe from watching Adventures of David the Gnome as a child and the wonderful lawn gnome in Amelie. I've developed an unnatural obsession with cupcake fabric. I have a stash of it that was originally devoted to make Gothic Lolita (Japanese street fashion) skirts, but I worry I am too old to wear that look much longer... so it's just sitting where I stare at it. I like something traditional in form, that takes on a hipper, more modern spin in execution. For example, I really like cross stitch...but not a fan of most of the kits at the stores... I like to cross stitch cartoon characters or tv show stuff.
