[The video feed flickers on to view the complete span of a typical Jigoku bedroom, previously unused. The figure lying on the bed is the only thing out of place in the room, the clear colours of orange and blue clothing can be seen as well as short dusky brown hair

Welcome to Jigoku, the haunted apartment complex. This building and the surrounding town are full of things that generally want to hurt you, none of us know why or how we got here. The computer doesn't connect to the internet, it only connects to a network for this town. While people do come and go, it seems to be entirely at random and no one's figured out how it works other than the default answer that "the ghosts did it."

There is one other important thing. The roll of red tape wards off ghosts. Again we don't know how or why, that's just how it works. Tape up the doors and windows, it'll prevent them from making their way inside the apartment. There are some hauntings that can't be controlled by the tape, but it's a start and makes it a bit easier to think. At least, if you're telepathically inclined, it generally does. We've had a few of those here, if I remember right.

Aside from generally being pissed that you got kidnapped, are you all right?

... I am fine. [The boy gives a sigh that sounds like relief] Thank you. You have been the only person to offer any kind of relevant information up until now.

That's because there isn't really much to give. I could warn you about the different kinds of hauntings that can't be warded off by the tape if you'd like?

[The boy nods, his face still in view on the screen, cold green eyes looking at it sharply] I need all the information you can give before I investigate it myself.

Okay. There's at least three in the room that I can remember.

One is the woman under the bed. She was murdered by someone after trying to hide there. She'll wake you up screaming in the middle of the night, and shaking the bed. Don't look under the bed when she does this! She'll mistake you for the murderer and try to claw your face off.

If there's weird water stains on your walls that appear overnight or move around, stay away from them. Whatever haunts them has a fondness for reaching out and strangling anyone that walks by. I don't think we know of a way to get rid of those yet.

Also if you find long, black hair clogging your drains, try to clear them out as fast as you can. If you fill the sinks or the bathtub too full of water when the drains are blocked up like that, the drain girl will crawl out of the water and try to either drag you in or strangle you until the drains are clear again and the water drains.

No, just the ones who might get nasty if left to their own devices. Aaron's a little too trusting, and we've had an influx of less than savory characters around here. I don't want him getting hurt or into too much trouble.

I'm not saying you're one of those kinds of people, but I am going to put it out there, since you come across as really harsh. [She casually inspects her claws, looking rather relaxed even if she sounds like she might be threatening him. Which she isn't, she just doesn't want Aaron bullied. Her big sister reflexes are kicking in.]
