I'm cheating on WoW. We got super bored so we decided we'd play the 7 day trial of Rift to break it up, and I haven't even curiosity logged into WoW in a week... Rift is pretty awesome.
it's the same kind of game as WoW, but the animation is not as cartoony and it's just everything that WoW isn't. If Joey starts tell him you have to get an account too. We can ride our turtles through the world shouting at the clouds!
Riding on turtles?! :D We don't have a game-able PC yet though. My lappy is ancient and his doesn't work for shit. He wants one so badly because he prefers computer gaming.
once you guys get your money situation off the rocks keep an eye out at best buy for big sales (like the post xmas sales and open box). Or even watch Dell.com they have loads of sales and give you decent bang for your buck. Tiger Direct and Newegg usually have some good bare bones builders too if Joey is capable of building one himself.
The good thing about games like WoW and Rift are that the min reqs are pretty low in comparison to FPS type games.
He wants to build one and just use the TV as our monitor. That's our plan when we can do it if he actually will do it. That's the bad thing about him, he doesn't do anything unless he has to lol I played a game once a while back that was sort of like WoW and I really liked it. It was like...Guild Wars or something? Something to do with Guild something or another.
Well it's not so much forgetting as learning, HDMI slots on monitors and graphics cards is fairly recent, honestly if it's been more then 6 months since his last build he'll want to look about at tech before he buys anything, it's not the putting together that's changed so much as the available options.
Three/Four years ago when we built Jason's computer your best bet for video quality was two cards, you could connect them to make them act as one card or you could leave them separate and duel monitor. Now you only need one card to duel monitor. 6 years ago when I started learning how to build computers you wanted a AGP card, now you'd be 'lucky' to find a board with an AGP slot, it's all PCI express.
He does at least fiddle with modding computers still so he may know what he's doing. Maybe. He at least knows where to look to find out anything he doesn't know. All of this stuff flies over my head. I'm the dumb girl who loves geeks lol

If he wants to use the TV make sure he gets a video card with an HDMI slot, just makes things simpler for everyone.
