sooo, true to my word, i update. how ... intense.
on a scale of 1-extreme its totally extreme.
i saw parts of this movie "koyaanisqatsi" the other day; holy shit. soo good. its the same cinematographer as from Baraka (Ron Fricke), but Koyaanisqatsi was made in 83. its the same type of thing as baraka; just cinemascapes set to music; no actors, nothing like that. but this one is about mans disharmony with nature; chronicling our beginnings to the pinnacle of today's civilizations, pretty fucking good shit. it means "life out of balance" in Hopi language. there were 2 others in that series, Powaqqatsi, and Naqoyqatsi. they mean "parasitic way of life" or "life in transition," and "life of war," respectively. i must see them all. and then touch myself naughtily. at a medium pace.
good jams tonight... got some more songs down, our disco-rock song is coming along nicely. looking to get some shows soon; hopefully we can record a cheesy demo to hand out to promoters soon. our pa is busted, but the lovely kevin jackson may be able to hook us up with some recording in his basement action.. we'll also be heading to the studio soon to record 6-7 songers, hopefully. that is, if all goes to plan. but jams have been good and frequent lately. which is good in more ways than one because theres only one other thing that makes me as happy as i am when i'm playing music. but even if im in the shittiest of moods and jamming is the last thing i want to do, when i get over to the house to rock out, and once we get into it, i cant help but smile. i've always wondered how it is that music can do that.
anyways, went out for wings last night with the DPAQ and melissa and fredoon... definitely a fun time! had good talks with darcy after wings and during a lot of beer drinking. that kids a sweetheart i tell ya (no darcy, im not hitting on you). it was good times though, talking about megaman, and laser mission. we still gotta watch 'super kung fu punch of death'. we talked about other stuff too which i hope helped; it was definitely good to talk about it. i definitely shouldn't have drank last night though, im such a rube.
the song "Daughters of the SoHo Riots" is stuck in my head, thanks alot to katie. definitely a good tune. but dag it gets stuck in there and don't come out!
also, heading to amsterdam for reading week, it'll be frickin awesome. if any of you knobs want to come, msg/call me and i'll give you details; it's pretty frackin cheap. AND. BODYWORKS 2 IS ON TILL FEB. 26 AT THE ONTARIO SCIENCE CENTER! i think a bunch of us are gonna go, if anyone wants to come... hit me up for that too! giddyup giddyup giddyup.
