We have had terrible, new. Our much loved little buddy, Monty, has had to be euthanased because of a fast-growing cancer. He has slept on my bed for 12 years, and was by far the most affectionate and clever companion animal I ever had. We are both deeply saddened by this turn of events. and we'll always remember him with love.

I'm very sad to hear it, but I'm happy to have word from you two. The footage coming out of QLD has been terrifying.

Poor old Queensland has been taking a battering and I haven't been having too wonderful a time these last few months, either ... or Ian for that matter. Dorothy Parker put it succinctly:

I am absurdly upset.
