I live in a cycle of angst and disappointment
a heart that feels like it’s been ripped to shreds
and littered over the happiness of lovers,
their burning flames ignited,
the thick black smoke clouding
my tear-streaked vision,
choking my convulsing lungs.
The red blood-droplets splattered
on the sidewalk of success
each pockmark a witness of my bleeding love
Couples dart around them, afraid
of the infectious plague of
loneliness.
