Went to Union Hall to see Ra Ra Riot last night.
I really love small venues. The place is no bigger than a basement. Actually, smaller than that. The stage is a foot off the group and isn't big enough to hold all 6 band members. However, they still danced wildly and didn't stop moving, even if they only had 2 feet to themselves.
The sound was REALLY loud. Like, going to make your ears bleed and make you deaf loud. Usually a bad thing, but it was AWESOME. At one point it was just a giant mesh of sound and everyone is dancing and going crazy. Absolutely crazy. The band, the audience. Your brain is rattling but you just dance along to. I can't describe it. Ra Ra Riot isn't a loud band, but it just sounds so good to hear them like that. The singer was a foot a away from me. Ha, when the stage is that small he had no choice. He couldn't move to the left or right so he just had to stay right there. Sorry to get a bit fangirly. But in those circumstances, I find it very hard to not just reach out and give him a tight hug around the waist. Cough. He's certainty a good looking fellow.

Yep so. Going to lots of shows. But I felt the need to write about this one because I discovered my new love for small venues. That room wasn't bigger than my apartment. (a tiny box) Hearing them so loud and caught up into there songs right in front of your face (literally) was amazing. I can't wait for the next show there. The best part being, I can walk to this venue. WALK TO SEE A CONCERT THEN WALK HOME.
Oh my god I love living here.
