My title is "in-game photographer and artistic designer". I think. Something like that. Basically I take screencaptures of video games. I like it alot, which is why I'm so upset. I make my own scenes, set up everything, characters, motions, weather, lighting. I can choose my cameras. I can freely think up anything and create it in a 3d environment.

Ooh I HATE when that happens at a job. I don't know if the laws vary by state but it is most definitely illegal here. I had to sign a waiver at my last job that I waived a "lunch" break with the understanding that I would work 7.5 hours and my legally required lunch would be at the *end* of my shift. It was no biggie because I could take little breaks throughout the day but if they hadn't had me sign that piece of paper they would be in big trouble. Unless you signed something I don't see how they can justify that. I just hate when everyone puts up with bad conditions. That's why unions are pretty awesome, even with the dues. I'm all for unions.

Hope you can find something else, hun. You have more solid skills to add to your resume now at least.

Thanks :] Yea this DOES look pretty good on a resume I suppose. I shows I'm a hard worker, since the world seems to know how badly they treat there employee's.

you are LUCKY though that it's illegal there! If you get a set salary here, then thats that. it doesn't matter if you work 40 or 75 hour weeks. It should be illegal though!!!

aww i'm so sorry julia. too good to be true, eh?

i think you should start applying to other jobs while still working here a bit longer. it's better than being completely jobless.

and you should talk to paul, i'm sure he'll understand once he sees how upset you are.

good luck and take a deep breath, you'll be fine!

I KNOW. Bah. I want to joint the lawsuit though! I picture in my mind freeing my co-workers and forcing the bosses to pay overtime! Yesterday the editors were there till 3 in the morning. They get paid to work till 7. ARGH

Yea I'm applying away to jobs. Unfortunately there isn't much there. (there never is haha) I just want to do ART. Paid to create and create whatever I want.

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that, and especially because everything sounded like it was going so well. That's really horrible of them to just turn around and expect you to do more than they pay you for, and without overtime?! What? You're definitely talented enough to do plenty of things besides that job...

And I think it's pretty understandable that after a whole day of staring at a screen you'd like to be able to talk to Paul face to face.

And if you ever want to call or text just to rant or talk or whatever about this or anything you know you're always welcome to do that. Take care and don't let them take advantage of you, you deserve better than that. *big hug*

haha thanks Jessie, I will probably do that soon. My job is really sucking the life out of me! Paul isn't honestly doing anything wrong, i'd probably join in with whatever hes playing if I didnt have to play video games for many many hours. Cause then that would be a solid day of video game playing, and my fried brain cannot take it!!! I already ich to read and go outside and do lots and lots of things that require movement. ahhhhhhh!

Awww, nooo, liiiife! You need that! Your job is a big vacuum butt! ): I know what you mean, too much of staring at a screen isn't good for you, especially not for full days at a time.
