Last day of internship!

Last day of my internship and its bittersweet. I'm excited to have my own classroom, but I'm so sad leaving my students. They were such a great class. They made me feel extra special today. My cooperating teacher had them write reasons why they think I'm a good teacher. It was so nice to hear what I did right with them. One of my students wrote how she thought it was funny that when I would bring down the projector screen it would jump right up. lol. I thought that was too funny. There were some serious comments like one of my ESE students wrote "Thank you for helping me read when I got called on. I will never forget how you include me in reading games." Its just something so simple, yet to them it means so much. :) I love kids!

As for not so good news, I had a parent call the region on me and my cooperating teacher today. It was for something sooooo stupid, because the child got an F on a project and we told him we couldn't discuss it with him at that moment. So since we didn't fix his problem right then and there he called the region. Unbelievable and I was nice to the man about it. When what I really wanted to tell the parent was "Deal with it!," but its not so easy. So I hope that doesn't go on my record, since the complaint was more towards the other teacher. Whatever. It makes me roll my eyes whenever I think about it, because its just so dumb.

Anyway, I'm technically done. I need a job!! Does anyone know the difference between a charter school and public school? I have an interview with a charter school, but I want to get a little more information on them. All I know is that they are funded by the state, yet they are privately operated by a company or someone. So I'll see what they tell me. My main concern is that I will still be in the Miami-Dade county public school system and I won't have to start the whole process over again if I decide to go back into a public school later.
