(no subject)
I can't believe it's already August! It is kind of feeling like summer is coming to an end b/c so many people are leaving Kalamazoo these nxt couple of weeks! I don't like it! Domenicali and Dave leave tomorrow morning :(
I've been having a pretty good time though...last weekend Jenny came to visit- we ran, watched She's the Man, and ate chocolate :) no one was really around, so we didn't do anything too crazy, but it was really good it just being the 3 of us.. and Rachel came to visit for Saturday, which was also excellent- we all went out to dinner and got caught up with what everyone's been doing this summer! Joel was also in town this weekend cleaning/moving out of his house...we went out to lunch on Sunday and it was really nice hanging out again, we hadn't talked in a long time, but things are good I think!
So, it started being really hot and humid, just like I think it has been everywhere- really hot days creep me out b/c I just think about global warming and they're always ozone alert days where you shouldn't use your car and stuff if you don't have to!
Monday came and kind of sucked...it was still really hot...I had to answer all of these lame questions for the Teach For America campaign manager conference I have to go to next weekend (at least it's in Chicago and maybe I'll meet some cool people)...So, these questions: they were all very similar, I already answered most of them in my billion phone interviews, and there were 20 pgs of them!! gahhh! They were due Wed. by email, so they frusterated me for 2 days...
I also helped set up for the national tennis tourney here at K M, T, and W- the hottest days of the summer! Normally I'm in AC all day, but of course I decided to work this extra job OUTSIDE on the hottest days!
Then Wed. was pretty good... Caitlin's friend Aaron is in town and we went over to his roomies house (they all go to western) and it was really hot so we drank beers in a kiddie pool out on the porch- then there was a huge thunderstorm and we turned the kiddie pool into a hot tub- then we watched Pee Wee Hermin on tv... that show is so weird and I used to watch it all the time as a kid.. my favorite movie was ET and Wizard of Oz though, so I guess I've always liked weird stuff! Then Cait and I didn't want to sleep on coaches, so we walked home in the rain and uncontrollably laughed the whole way! it was great!
Last night Aaron drove us to get dougnuts and we went to his friend Shelly's new apt.. she was awesome and we talked a lot about western and K, drugs, parties, and played euchre..she sounded like she may be a genius and is hoping to go to Yale next year for grad. school...and she's tried most every drug...it made me want to try some drugs a little bit!
my prof is gone for 3 weeks and this week I've slacked at work SOO much- I'm going to do better next week, I hope! I came into work around 10:30 yesterday and 10 today...
