Happy New Year!
IT'S 2006! 2005 was a pretty great year and I feel like 2006 is going to be even better!
So, I just got back to Perth after what seemed like a FOREVER long trip down the east coast...we met some cool people, it was a lot of fun and really pretty, but living out of a suitcase wears you out! We started in Cairns where we snorkelled the great barrier reef- very cool...then we went to Magnetic Island and rented a "barbie car"...then we went on a tropical rainforest tour and swam in a waterfall...we spent a day in Townsville where Kay and I played in a crazy water playland for kids...then about 18 hrs on a bus to Fraser Island- our ferry broke down on the way, then Kay's purse was stolen by a dingo (she got it back), but it was gorgeous and I've never seen so many stars in my life...then to Brisbane for Christmas, which was way too hot and then we flew to Sydney for New Years...
New Years was terrific! we spent ALL day by the opera house...there was skywriting, fireworks at 9, then the main AMAZING fireworks at midnight where the sydney bridge looked like it was being blown up/on fire (with pretty fireworks though)...
I drank way too much on an empty stomach (b/c I ate all of my food too early and they ran out of most food in the area we were in), so I got sick 2 min. before 12! I threw up all over the opera house steps and throughout Sydney...it wasn't so fun! Katie and Jillian had a wonderful time listening to my crazy talking and video taping it, oh and taking future blackmail pictures too...so at least I was entertaining before I got sick and they had to help me get back!
I can't post pictures using this Curtin internet b/c the photo websites are all blocked, so hopefully I'll get some pictures up in a few days...I did put a few on facebook...(not the barbie car yet, Tiek)
I love you and I miss you all...we talked about a couple of our favorite memories of 2005 and many of you were definitely a part of them- THANKS! xoxo
