(no subject)
So yesterday 17 men were arrested in raids in Sydney and Melbourne, which may have prevented a major terrorist attack...apparently, the men were stockpiling chemicals to make bombs....who wants to attack Australia?! It probably wouldn't even make the news!
Well at least I doubt anyone would attack Perth, so I think I'm safe.... although I don't know if just walking around campus is safe! The other night I was walking back from the flat that's across the street and security drove up to me (literally drove onto the sidewalk, haha) and asked if I needed a ride. I said no, I was just going across the street back to my flat, so they said they were gonna follow me b/c there had been some attacks that night! It seems like the warm weather comes and the crazies come out b/c there have been so many robberies, muggings, and attacks very recently...last week a guy I know had a gun held to his head just across the street (where I was walking...yeah, I'm smart I know)
On another note, it's so weird here right now b/c most of the Americans are leaving within a week or have already left! Jackie and Mandy just left this morning...sad! We had a party in our flat for them last night and we were wasted by 9:00 ...we played beer pong- Mandy and I (the baltimore team) won about 6 games and I won one by myself...when we finally lost I think the whole game ended! It was a good time...we didn't have enough big cups though, so we had to use some little ones, which threw us off our game!
Our "villiage" also had a cook-out and bouncy castle last night, which was fun!
