Sunday I went to Perth w/ Jillian and KO and it was very fun! We went to a record store and bought some local cds...so hopefully they'll be pretty good! We walked around the stores...I bought a book of short stories by young Australian writers, so that should be good! I think my creative writing prof suggested we read that, or at least it was a similar book! Jillian also got an Australian short story book, so hopefully we'll get to trade! I also bought $1 calenders to decorate my room with...they're pictures of Western Australia, so I can feel like I'm outside even when I'm not :) We decided to stay and see a movie once all the stores closed around 5, so we got some subway and saw War of the Worlds...I thought it was pretty good and suspenseful.. different from the book, but good! Also, Joel called me and we talked for a while, so that was great!
This weekend had its ups and downs...overall it left me with some interesting stories! Friday night we went to a bar called The Como to meet "Jessica's aussie guy" Jim...well the bus wasn't coming for a while, so we decided to walk...being drunk and having wonderful senses of direction we didn't really go the quickest way and it took a while! We almost gave up a few times and wanted to call a taxi, but we eventually made it on foot! So, once we got there it was ok...me and KO were making circles around the bar and this cute guy comes up and asks me if I know Brady, I say no and he's like ok, never mind. A little bit later I decide to go up to him and I ask him if he knows brady...so he ends up buying me a drink b/c I "had the balls to talk to him" or something and eventually it comes up that he has a girlfriend, so that's fine...well he (Nathan) introduces me to his friends and he says that me and my friends (who had left me at that point, haha) were all going to Northbridge to a club with him and his friends and the next weekend we were going to a party in the country with them. So, we do end up going to Northbridge with them, since they drove and everything it was free. We hang out at a couple clubs for a bit and Nathan dances all goofy and gets us to also b/c he's like you dont know anyone here- have fun (I like to dance goofy anyway, so it was a good time)...then Nathan and one of his friends asked if we're ready to go b/c they're leaving, so we go with them. Well, we're almost to Curtin and we drop Nathan off and he asks us (Kay, KO, and me) if we want to hang out for a while and have some drinks with him....umm no, you have a girlfriend, ass...so we tell him we have to get up early and stuff and his friend is really nice and is saying quietly that he'll drive us wherever we want to go...so he ends up driving us back to Curtin and kind of says that Nathan is not a really great boyfriend and stuff...yeah, we figured!
Ok, then Saturday Jillian, KO, and I went to Fremantle...we had lunch (pancakes, yay) and made some fun jewelery at this bead shop! Then we came back to Curtin and went to volunteer at this old time musical at a church- serving dinner....the whole thing was soo long and pretty boring and we did get free food, but not enough, so we were still hungry! We finally got out of there an hour after we expected to (11:00) and went to Northbridge ...well, we had an ok time dancing, but there weren't any cute guys where we were and there were long lines to get into the clubs and we were hungry- so we were a little cranky...after the club we went to get food and in line we were saying how we hated Australia b/c it was full of dodgey guys, etc.. and the guy in front of us said I can't have 3 beautiful ladies hating Australia, what can I do to change your minds...we didn't really have an answer and he bought us each a rose (they were $5 each, yikes) and he gave us his business card, saying to call him anytime and he'll take us out for a good time or just pick us up and be our taxi one night- anything to make us like Australia, haha! he was like 30 and not cute, too bad! So later we're waiting for a taxi and a guy comes up and asks us where we're going and he's going close by, so he shares one with us...and we talk and stuff during the ride and when we get to his house he invites us in for drinks and says he'll drive us home...we said no b/c (other than that he was a stranger) it was 4:30 am- no time to be having more drinks, thanks! I loved the taxi driver- he was so funny and thought it was dodgey that we didn't know him and he invited us to his house!
Yeah, so we've decided that the guys here are pretty dodgey and we will not be picking up any guys while we're here...I don't really mind though, I'm just going to go out and dance and have fun like usual!
LOVE and MISS YOU ALL! xoxo
