Nice. Real nice.

So as Jeff and I are going out to see The Hobbit, Mom tells us, "We need to have a talk when you get home."

Now we know what her problem is. The downstairs is a mess and she wants it cleaned up before next weekend. Well, it's messy because for one thing we have boxes sitting all over the place from trying to pack (she DOES want us out of the house as soon as possible), and for another thing, we work retail and it's the holidays. We are tired when we are not at work, and on our days off, we've been trying to shop for difficult to shop for (and some difficult to want to shop for) family members. We have not been able to keep it looking like she wants it.

So with warning of impending lecture, we both stressed out all day. Then by the time we get home at 8:30 from the movie and trying and failing to finish the Christmas shopping, she's already gone to bed.

So, I'm already stressed to the max, and now the ridiculous lecture will have to wait until tomorrow because apparently the only one in the house allowed to be tired is Mom. The fact that we're tired doesn't count.

Yes, we've got to get out of this house. We're doing everything we can to do so. But there is no chance of transferring until at least February or March, and we've got no time off to go down to Florida to arrange anything until March. So, we can pack, but that's all we can do in the meantime. And no matter what Mom thinks we should do, we can't pack ALL of our stuff months before we move and just sit around on the floor twiddling our thumbs.

So, the cycle of stress goes 'round and 'round...
