I'm really worn out from this week, and I'm not sure why. Maybe all the Harry Potter running around? Jordan and I spent all of today putting the finishing touches on our media packets and driving them around, so that's taken care of now and we are happy campers.
Last night I hung out with Matt for a little bit - fish & chips & Wonder Boys, which I could probably watch a million times - and then I went to the P & H to visit with Spriggs one last time before he takes off for LA. I didn't expect to really know anyone else there (besides his friend Russ, who is completely the sweetest thing ever), but it was actually a pretty old school crowd, so I saw Amy Gray, Laura Anderson, Anna Sullenberger, Caleb Burke, Brent Morgan, Matt Reed... pretty much a nice representation of the McCoy Theatre crew. I'm really glad I ran into Spriggs a few weeks ago and was able to go wish him well... I realized when we were all sitting around that he's the sort of person I have absolutely always been glad to run into - someone you're always happy to see - and that's such a nice thing. I hope I have the pleasure of bumping into him again at some undisclosed point down the road. Sue-Sue and I were planning to grab a quick drink at Side Street after that but, thanks to the devilish ailment workings of P.W., we settled instead for a couple of sundaes at the Rat's Nest. I did get a beer on my way over, though, since I stuck to coke (a-cola) at the P. I'm not usually one for camping out at a bar on my own, but sometimes I really enjoy unwinding in a space like that - almost like a familiar anonymity, or something. Or maybe I was just channeling Norm from Cheers. "Sometimes you wanna go..."
Alex called last night and wanted me to go to the Bob Dylan/ Willie Nelson concert downtown tonight. Part of me thinks the experience would be awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing him, but a much bigger part of me is exhausted (and already hot and sweaty). I think tonight I'm up for some quality Kath time - pizza, movie on demand, bubble bath... mmmmm. I've got a bottle of wine just waiting for me to finish it.
