Never Drive Into A Flooded Area!!!

So, as most of you know, the river up here flooded well over the flood level. They opened the flood gates last night to let some of the pressure go. Well, it was around midnight and Jimmie, Rachel, Chad, myself and Tiff were in the car taking Chad back to his place. Pouring rain, maybe a 15 feet visibility. So we don't see that we are driving straight into a pool of water. Tiff and I are smushed in the backseat with Chad laying across us. All of a sudden, the car starts to slow down. And it starts to smoke like crazy. We're imagining the 5 of us pushing his car out of this deep pool of water and then walking back in the downpour. Slowly, the car continues through the pool. We pull into Wendy's, only for his car to break down. Jimmie and Chad run inside and tell us not to get out unless its an emergency. (Apparently, scary homeless guy still lurks in the shadows of the dumpster). We're sitting in the drive-thru at Wendy's.. hoping we don't have to walk home and that the car will be okay. Chad runs across the deserted highway, hoping his apartment isnt flooded. Jimmie's car starts and we decide it better to jump on the extension and get off at the next exit. He drops us off, and after much craziness, we trell him to be careful on his hour drive home (even though he shouldn't have gone). We were back by 12:15.. at 1:30 we hadn't heard anything... this is bad. I think it was around 2:00 he called to say that his car broke down in the middle of a puddle and had to be towed away. He was staying the night in Wellsboro with a friend. As of right now, the highway to get out of here is closed. Which means, we are stuck here. Blah.
