Ok, I'm doing a hair experiment and we'll see the results after it's dried. Basically, I have wavy hair that flattens at the top. My hairdresser says it flattens at the top because it's so thick but I don't believe him (Ha!). My hair has thinned out a lot since college. Anyway. My main issues are that it's not curly enough and it's too flat on top. So, here's what I did and I'll update with results when it's dried.
1. Before I washed my hair, I parted it and shampoo it while keeping the part in place. I did this cause I like an even part.
2. Shampooed with Giovani shampoo because there's no SLS or parabens in Giovani products. And, yes I know curlies are supposed to go no poo but I tried no poo and it just didn't work for me.
3. When I got out of the shower, I sprayed Jessicurl Gelebration Spray on my hair to help encourage curls. Do anyone use that product?
4. Used a diffuser to curl my hair and to put some lift at my scalp. I definitely notice the volume but my hair looks as curly as it usually does. No more curly unfortunately.
I'm not sure how it'll look when dry. But I'll definitely update.
What's your curly hair regime?
EDIT: Ok, my hair is dry now and it doesn't look any better than it normally would. The only good thing is that it's a bit more voluminous than normal but it's straight and fluffy, which I hate. Sigh. Next time I'm gonna try some of the suggestions in this post and hope for a better outcome. Thanks everyone.
I haven't had much success with either Curlfriend products or Jessicurl products. I'm hesitant to try Devacurl products since people love Jessicurl products and they didn't work for me. Any additional product rec'd would be much appreciated.
