My hair is fairly long (upper-mid back), takes forever to air dry and looks like shit if it does. Some stuff curls at the top and stops, parts wave, some straightens itself.. I have a blow dryer but not a diffuser (it's hard to find ones that fit certain blow driers, I used to sell them..) Does anyone have any suggestions for getting my hair to dry ( Read more... )

Maybe try a curl defining product? Something that makes your hair want to curl ...

A girlfriend of mine recommended Schwarzkopf "Thrill" to me, the other day. I haven't tried it yet, but she swears by it and has the sort of half curly half unhelpful sort of hair.

Alternatively, I use a Modern Organic Products product called C-Curl Curl Defining Cream, from their MOP C System range. Just don't use too much or your hair can be crunchy/slightly tacky to touch after. If you have, I find running my hands over the curls a few times to break up the stiffness works to make it soft and lovely but I do have to wash my hands afterwards.

My hair dryer with diffuser attachment cost like 12 dollars and it has made an amazing difference in my hair.

So, no I don't have the advice you asked for, but a cheap diffuser is probably cheaper than products you'd buy to make up for not having one.
