Curly + blonde highlights!

Hi all!
I am new, and I just have a few questions about my current hair.

Brief rundown:  My natural colour is a light ashy brown (I was blonde as a kid, and then went darker over time)  and I had light blonde streaks in my hair for the last few years. Then 6 months ago i went dark brown which was good to give it a break from the bleaching but on the weekend I decided to go back to blonde. So my boyfriend's mum, who used to be a hairdresser AGES ago, streaked my hair!. The problem is that she hadn't done it in ages, and hadn't used supermarket dye to lighten before (I was aware of this, and decided to be a guinea pig anyway!). Problem was that the peroxide wasn't really strong enough to get through the multiple dye jobs before it, so now it is quite brassy and yellow looking I think. I was recommended a silver/purple pigmented shampoo (Matrix Essentials So Silver is what I got) and now, reading the bottle, I am not sure what to do about conditioner. The bottle doesn't say 'follow with conditioner' or whatever, so I am not sure what to do. I am kinda regretting not just staying dark cos i liked it like that too (just wanted a change!)

So what I am really wondering is:
- has anyone used this product before? Do i use conditioner too? Cos my curls would probably be horrible without it!
- if so, would it matter if I just used a supermarket brand? Or should I use the organic salon conditioner that I also have? I don't want to nullify what i have done with the shampoo
- does anyone have a good curly hair conditioner that they would recommend, or does it not really matter and I should focus on my post-shower product (I currently use Bedhead 'Curls Rock' which I like)
- will using a shampoo to de-brass my blonde also de-curl my curls?

I struggle a bit with my hair, some days it is really curly (but big curls, not little ringlets), others it's more wavy. I have NO idea what type it is. It's all in the way that I dry it really, and how patient I am! Also, when I am at my parent's house in Queensland (Aus) where it is really humid it frizzes and curls more. I have no idea what type of hair I have because I've never really thought about it.

I'll chuck in a few pics for good measure! You can tell by them that I don't often wear it out and curly- i pull the front back. The top layers never curl that well, that's why. Maybe I need them more layered or something, I don't know!

I'm clearly the only curly one! This was about a year and a half ago, so isn't my current 'yellow' look (i straighten my fringe obviously). This is the only one i can find where i don't have the back pulled up.

Another, not-so-great one. You can see that it is sometimes in big ringlets and sometimes just messy looking

Please excuse the fact that I look naked! I promise I'm not! :)

Okay i'll leave you all alone now! Thanks for any advice that you can give me
