The Castro post is coming... I got a call from a manager at 7am-- my phone was on silent-- so by the time I woke up at 830am, I had to scramble to work. We didn't do any kind of crazy continuous coverage.

There isn't any kind of dancing on the streets here because it wasn't completely unexpected.

His brother is more of the same, but not as "hard line" as he is. There is an "election" on Sunday-- and it could be either his brother Raul, or one of 4 other people.

I keep having images of Weekend at Bernies in Cuba... and one of these days we'll find out he's dead.

It's all part of the gradual transition of power.... had he died and they just announced it-- it would be chaos. So instead they say he's sick... temporarily hand over power... wait some time... release some photos... he doesn't make public appeareances... he officially resigns... and one of these days they'll announce he's dead.

Castro LOVES to speak and speak and be in the limelight. If he were well enough, he would've gone in public and made a speech instead of releasing these "letters" via the communist newspaper.
