After the 2nd wash, I eventually concluded that Natalie's hair was still not fully clean from the Avocado Butter or the Olive Oil. She went to bed with greasy hair and this morning we got in the shower. I put Garnier Triple Nutrition conditioner on the ends of her hair. Then I washed her hair above her forehead, above her ears and just above her neck with baby shampoo in a foaming pump. I rinsed with water (from the shower head). Then I put Garnier Triple Nutrition conditioner all over her hair and scrunched. I rinsed that and then put more on the ends and rinsed really gently and not thoroughly. I also sprayed in some lemon/vinegar water and left it in. I scrunched. She stayed in the tub while I got ready so her hair got to drip-drain for a bit. Then when she got out I put in some Sally's Hydrating Gel (or something like that). I scrunched and we plopped her hair on a jersey pillow case and gave her a little turban for a few minutes while I got her dressed. She hated it, so I took it off. I added some clippies to the top of her head for lift and I dried the top of her head most of the way with a diffuser. We had a busy morning. We were out of the house by 8:45 am and I didn't take this picture (behind the cut) until around 12:15. The hair from the top of her head still doesn't want to curl, but the rest is soft, waves. The waves are not very springy and are easily disturbed. She has frizz, but nothing like the rat's nest I'm used to. Her hair is very soft, smooth, shiny and I can run my fingers through it. Her curls don't want to stick together in big stringy strands, but I'm happy with the result. I think she has the kind of hair where the curl definition will never be stunning, and that she can go back and forth from curls to straight hair. She is definitely a no-poo girl. She has more curls on the back of her head, but she still needs some of the goop to be washed out. We're almost there.
