cue the banjos yet again!
Its been a while since Ive had an Appalachia update.
This Saturday I had the fam over for a little mini cookout. (Trying to make nice with mom and all). No sooner had they arrived, my sister noticed Junior wandering around in his fluffy maroon bathrobe. She commented on the oddity of it - not least of which because its a fuzzy bathrobe and it was about 95 degrees, full bore sun, and wicked humidity... definitely NOT suitable weather for fuzzy bathrobes.
Not satisfied in proving his appalachain-ness with simply being in his bathrobe, he proceeds to chat up the man who came to look at his "for-sale" kayak which was in his front yard (this as we unload the cars as the fam arrives). Sisters were shocked that this man would be out and about in a bathrobe, and HORRIFED that he would stand in the street in said bathrobe and try to sell his kayak to a complete stranger! I barely reacted to such a scene... Im used to stuff like this... I told them "now you see why I cant wait to get a privacy fence!!??".
Junior retired to his backyard, and proceeded to sit with his cigar and 6-pack all afternoon.... of course wearing his bathrobe... And with the lack of privacy fence, the fam was treated to this scene all afternoon, as we were in my backyard trying to enjoy a mini cookout.
Somehow burgers and dogs dont taste as nice with a giant fat man in a maroon bathrobe in the nearby vicinity...
