hi everyone! okay, let's just start by acknowledging that summer lacks in 'summerness' when the temperature barely reaches 60 degrees for consecutive days...
anyway, having nothing to do in the way of 'homework' and knowing it will be that way for 3 months is very nice. i am enjoying irvington despite being grounded...productive things i've done so far include reading the sisterhood of the traveling pants (awesome book...i plan on starting the sequel in a few minutes), painting an abstract but colorful acrylic that can decorate the wall of our suite next year...oh, and cleaning out/organizing the entire left side of my closet, which, for years has been designated as storage space for all gift-wrapping materials (really, it's quite ridiculous to save gift-wrap that has already served it's purpose - i think i dug up a piece of wrapping paper from like 1985).
my summer job until camp starts currently involves conditioning lots and lots of flowers with adorable 40-yr-old ladies...this is fun.
exciting things i have done so far:
- modeled in a hair show
- zootopia
- attended a concert entitled "Neil Berg's 100 years of Broadway"
-went to trl with marge and sam for the 'longest yard movie block party special'! this was lots of fun because special guests included adam sandler, chris rock, nelly who performed and burt reynolds... also, while standing in the crowd we discover that allen covert (the guy in many adam sandler movies, i.e. plays '10-second-Tom' in 50 First Dates) is standing right next to us...so we talked to him and got autographs and stuff...he's really cool. it should also be noted that marge and sam got to touch adam sandler's hand. we ended the adventure with free barbecue, then a trip to jamba juice, and came home with free t-shirts/soundtrack for the longest yard. i <3 ny.
ok, lunch time!
