It's a restaurant that specializes in grilled "naked" (i.e. no gloppy sauces) fish. Also, they have delish Cuban cocktails and the atmosphere is totally hip & gorgeous.
do a google search for "naked fish" -- it's a chain restaurant with multiple locations. there's one in waltham near where bds has it's classes. no idea about msg, i thought only asian restaurants used msg.
last comment about this and then I'll get out of Rachel's journal.. sorry Rach..
Many and in fact, MOST restaurants use MSG in at least some of their seasonings. Some restaurants like the 99 put it in everything. In fact, Asian restaurants are one of the safest places now for people with MSG allergies because they had so many people complaining about the MSG that many of them went out of their way to cook food without it. Bennigan's has it in a lot of their food as does The Outback steakhouse. most of the middle of the road places do. :(
At least for the fish itself, there's no need to worry. If I remember correctly, they only use lemon juice, salt, and possibly a bit of olive oil (it's been quite a while since I've been there).
ah, well i don't usually go to chain restaurants but i can see how they'd user cheaper crap (one of the reasons i don't go ... i prefer lower-priced, non-chain, high-quality food). i hate bennigans, outback, tgi fridays, olive garden and all like establishments.
And they have excellent, interesting side dishes. I've only been there a few times, but I remember getting (and it was possibly only a limited-time special) mashed banana sweet potato. Yum.
