If my LJ wasn't friends-only, I'd have to find somewhere else to vent and tell all these stories! I've writtten embaressing things and probably negative things about almost everyone I know at least once. I can't make the LJ public now and risk hurting someone's feelings. Most of the people I know who are my LJ friends are acquaintances - they don't know any of my close friends, so they're removed from all stories - but they still know me well enough to care and comment. It's a nice balance.

Ever make private entries or friends-only entries when you want to tell any secrets or "shocking news?"
