Jury Duty

After 8 years of dodging it, I am finally serving jury duty, and you know what? I LIKE IT!!!

Okay, maybe "like" is a strong word, but I don't have to go to work, and they have televisions and the internet there, so it's all good.  Granted, the television was only on news networks (although they changed for The Price is Right) and the "u" and "y" buttons on the keyboard didn't work, and the computer logs you off after 8 minutes, but it was still better than dirty looks from dirty teenagers that I get at work every day.

And the people there are so......interesting.  I had a woman beg me to use her cell phone to talk to her baby's daddy because he didn't believe that she was at jury duty and he didn't want to pick up their kid from school.  He hung up on me though, oh well.  And another woman who tried to get into a fight with me insisting that Cory Lidle committed suicide (didn't help that she brought it up every ten minutes because the news show kept repeating the same stories so often that I can now recite them).  And then there was the VERY trashy looking middle aged woman with foot-high hairsprayed bangs and a leopard print purse yelling on her phone that she should not have to be here because it was "like waiting on a welfare line." Yup...interesting.

Oh, and then there was a fight between two women on the train on the way home...but that could have happened any day.

Yep...jury duty rules, and I get to go back tomorrow! Oh, the stories I will have...
