I've already got an idea for a story. I really like this one. But it meanders, seeming to leave one area and go on to something new. But here's the story.

It's called Amanda's Bottom.
Amanda is a grad student in electromagnetics, or astronomy or something. She's got a lazer or something and it has a freq, and she's tweaking its freq and there's a narrow band of freq in the electromagnetic spectru that she can see.
There's not supposed to be visible light in this freq. And the visible light? it's a color she's never seen before.
Amanada has invented a color. It's hers. She sees a patent atty and tries to patent it, as do genetecists who sometimes patent strands of dna.
She doesn't want her name out there. She wants to sell this thing. Sell it? Market it herself? Pay someone to market it for her? Give it a catchy name?
She becomes a minor celeb. She goes on a survivorlike reality show. She meets a guy.

I know the last sentence blows. But I don't have enough to come up with a story without it. I'm hoping I'll come up with something compelling and not need it.
