I know how small this will sound, but I got a new vcr for xmas in, maybe, 1991. My prev vcr had a setting for "everyday".
The new one had a setting for "mon-fri"
Sure enough, TECHNICALLY David Letterman on NBC was not mon-fri, but rather Tues-Sat, because the show started at 12:35 a.m.
I was awoken the first friday night/sat morning that I had the VCR at 1:00 by a caller who said, "Is there someone here who wrote a letter to David Letterman? Dave read you letter on the air tonight."
Cool, I thought.
But I didn't have it on tape. Actually took me some time to figure out why....
My 15 seconds of fame, and I missed it.
