I've recently noticed a great difference between the attitude towards quiet people between Russians and Americans. Russians seem to be more comfortable being around quiet people than Americans are. Americans get totally confused and automatically assume that something is wrong if the person is quiet for more than 5 minutes. I think that it is pretty tough for quiet people to hang out and make friends here. You always have to talk,smile and gesticulate. I enjoy it because I don't have to think about how much I talk at all. I constantly worry that I talk too much when I'm around Russian people. So this feels like heaven. Talking non-stop:)
